Historians classify the period that included the late 1970s and most of the 1980s (represented by Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash, including early work by Run DMC, Public Enemy and others) as old school. Tupac, Eazy E and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony also joined shortly after.
The end of old school is usually characterized with the beginning of other hip hop arts, such as graffiti, breakdancing, among others.
I'm going to make some posts here of some OLD SCHOOL RAP collections, starting with this collection especially separated with big names in rap, from the mid-80's, mid-90's. Wait for next volumes.
